Dr. Alexandra Grulke—“Dr. Sandie"—grew up along the East Coast. She moved around frequently while growing up because of her father's job on the railroad. Eventually her family settled in Delaware where she attended both high school and the University of Delaware. After spending time in a podiatrist office during college due to her own personal foot problems, she decided to attend Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.

Upon graduation she was selected to attend Temple University Hospital Surgical Residency Program, one of only two four-year surgical programs in the country. This residency program specialized in trauma, diabetic care, rearfoot and ankle surgical cases, and pediatrics, with access to Temple Children's Hospital and Clinic. This four-year surgical program gave her experiences and additional training that differentiates her from other podiatrists.

Dr. Sandie is dual certified in Foot Surgery, 2009, and Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery, 2011, from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. After graduation, she joined a practice in Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania, where she stayed for 5 years until an opportunity opened closer to home and she made the change, joining Podiatry Care Specialists, P.C.

Dr. Sandie currently resides in Downingtown with her husband, 4 children, 3 active labs, and 2 cats. Together with her family she is an active runner, karate student, and taxi driver for her kids. She understands how hectic life can be balancing work and home duties and how there is often no time for foot pain. She is committed to getting you back to your normal hectic life as soon as possible.
