Dr. Theodore G. Mushlin graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (now known as the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia) in 1969 with a degree of BSc in Pharmacy.  He worked in retail pharmacy for several years before entering podiatry school.  He then graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1975.  After completing a podiatric surgical residency at Kensington Hospital, he opened his first office in Newtown Square, PA in 1977.  Dr. Mushlin served as Chief of Podiatry and Director of Residency training at Kensington Hospital from 1980-1988.  Because of his desire to teach and pass on knowledge to the next generation of podiatrists, he remained active in residency training at the many hospitals where he was on staff.  Dr. Mushlin was elected president of the Delaware County Podiatry Society from 1981-1984. In addition, he was Chief of Podiatry at Mercy Haverford Hospital from 1985 until the hospital closed in 2003.

In 1985, Dr. Mushlin opened his second office in Westtown, PA.  Over the years the practice grew from 2 patients the first week, to 5 doctors and 5 locations!  He credits his wife, Fay, with priceless support along the way.  When he first started his practice, she helped in the office answering the phone and providing PR.  Fay is now the practice administrator and oversees a staff of 23.

With the tens of thousands of patients that have been seen during Dr. Mushlin’s 38 years of practice, there were many times that the treatments received were able to significantly change a patient’s life.  In one instance, a high school star soccer player, unable to run because of an injury, had been set to play before a college scout for a chance at a scholarship. He feared the opportunity would be lost, but in less than 1 week, Dr. Mushlin was able to get him back on his feet and playing soccer again. As a result, he was able to receive a college scholarship after all.

Dr. Mushlin is Board Certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.  He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management. When he is not working, he enjoys summers at the shore, and being with family is his biggest pleasure. He especially enjoys having his son, daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, and grand dog only minutes away.

Dr. Mushlin recently retired in June of 2017 after over 40 years of practicing. Dr. Mushlin's goal was to leave behind a place where his patients would continue to receive quality foot and ankle care in a warm, caring atmosphere. We are dedicated to honoring his wishes.
